Climbing Wall Instructor

Mountain Leader

The Climbing Wall Instrutcor (CWI) qualification is all about supervising safe climbing sessions on artificial structures. Whether you're a parent, a volunteer or an outdoor centre instructor, the Climbing Wall Instructor qualification trains and assesses experienced indoor climbers to instruct climbing. Climbing Wall Instructor work is fun, varied and if you're lucky you'll get free entry to the climbing wall!

Bryn Williams is one of the leading providers of the CWI scheme in the UK having been involved in the delivery of the qualification for over 10 years and was also the former Executive Officer for Mountain Training with responsibilities in creating the syllabus, training providers and quality assuring the scheme around Wales.

Early in Bryn's career he worked part time at the Beacon Climbing Centre here in North Wales. Bryn ran hundreds of climbing sessions and really cut his teeth as an instructor and coach. Bryn now works reguarly in climbing walls with private clients / groups and works as a Technical Advisor for several climbing walls all around the country delivering staff training sessions, equipment inspections and reviewing of working practices, policies and procedures. All of this additional experience adds to the detail of what is covered as part of the CWI training and assessment process.

Course cost includes entry to climbing wall.
